Do you want to save money or pay out more money?
The question is simple, especially when it comes to whether you want to save money or pay out more money on your electric bill.
I was at a Seniors Fair at the Ramada Inn yesterday where I posed this first question to folks who came by the Electricity Maine display. For most, the answer was, "Yes! I want to save money." (In fact, many more came by and said that they already signed up with Electricity Maine and they are saving money already!)
If they answered "yes," I asked them if they'd like to spend a minute filling out a form that could save them 5% on the energy supply portion of their bill. Most said, "Well. My bill isn't that high. I don't use much electricity."
My next question was, "How much is your bill?" "About $40 or $50 a month."
So you could save about $2 - $2.50 a month. Are you interested in signing up for the savings?
"Well. It is not that much."
"Ok. If I had $25 sitting here on the table, would you want to take it if I gave it to you or would you leave it there and say, 'it is not that much."
"I would take the money!" Then sign up for the savings.
"I don't know. I have to think about it."
Ok. You can think about it and continue to pay more. Thanks for coming by today.
It is strange how we complicate things in our lives. Here's a chance to save money that costs nothing but a minute of your time and, yet, people shy away from it.
I don't know about you, but if I have a chance to save money and it doesn't cost me anything, I'm on it in a heartbeat.
You can save money today...now. Just sign up at Electricity Maine.
